Only a few hours into competition, Paly’s Friends of Millard Fillmore Club has already made a strong start in its annual trivia hunt, after winning a bonus round this afternoon at Carlmont High School.
The team received a cake as a prize for answering the most questions during the bonus round. In the round, participating teams were asked 15 on-the-spot trivia questions.
“The questions are really obscure and random, so most people don’t know the answers,” sophomore Tyralyn Tran said.
In the bonus round, Paly received a score of 19, and the team from Castilleja School came in second with a score of 17. Teams from Carlmont, Woodside, and Notredame high schools tied for third place with a score of 14.
Paly’s team will continue searching for answers throughout the weekend, at the Paly library or the team’s home base. Research will continue until Sunday night, when all teams are required to turn in their answers.
