Bay Area author and comedian Brian Copeland, originally scheduled to speak about his recently published book tonight in the Haymarket Theater, will be unable to visit because of sickness, according to the City of Palo Alto Web site.
Copeland’s memoir, Not a Genuine Black Man, published in 2006, describes the discrimination he and his family experienced while they lived in San Leandro, Calif., which was a predominantly Caucasian community during Copeland’s childhood.
