Crowds of students filled the quad today during Paly’s annual Field Day, which featured festivities for students to relax and have fun as the end of the school year nears.
During a 70-minute extended lunch, students enjoyed “Adrenaline Rush,” an inflatable obstacle course; a 20-foot high rock climbing wall; an inflatable boxing ring; as well as staff vs. student volleyball matches. Free hot dog lunches were also provided for students who wished to eat on campus.
The obstacle course, a yearly favorite, boasted the longest lines as many were eager to crawl, climb, and jump through the short course, which ended with a ten-foot slide. The rock-climbing wall, a new attraction this year, was also greeted with much enthusiasm.
Most students heartily enjoyed the thrills. “The volleyball and obstacle course were awesome,” junior Jordan Lai said. “It [Field Day] is a great way to wind down at the end of the year, ” junior Bobby Georgescu said.
The activities went good and I’m exhausted,” student activities director Joann Vaars said. “It was an excellent example of collaboration between staff, parents, and teachers to make a fun day for everyone."
