With childhood film-inspired class dances, Palo Alto High School wrapped up its final rally of the year this afternoon on the Earl Hansen Viking Stadium field, ending Spirit Week on a high note.
Senior class president James Park said the seniors’ dance reflected their hard work and unity.
“A lot of people — almost everybody in the class — showed up,” Park said. “We had to make a few last-minute adjustments, but I think it worked out really well and I’m really proud of my class for showing up for such a big day.”
Looking ahead to the Homecoming football game tonight, Park said he hopes to see the same enthusiasm during the halftime senior dance.
“I’d like to see the same passion that we saw at this dance,” Park said.
Freshman Lenox Hancock said the rally reminded her of how far the class has come since the beginning of the year.
“It was really fun,” Hancock said. “I liked watching everyone do the dance, and the floats all turned out so well. As freshmen, I think our first class dance was very memorable and energetic.”
Sophomore Carolina Marcello Madeira said the energy on the field made the experience unforgettable.
“My experience was amazing,” Madeira said. “All my friends participated in the dance — I did too — and the sophomores were really hyped up this year. Unfortunately, we lost to the juniors, but it’s okay, next year, we got it.”
Junior Laila Joshi said she loved seeing each class’s creativity throughout Spirit Week.
“I thought the last rally was super fun,” Joshi said. “I love seeing everyone’s class dance and how much energy there was. The junior spirit themes were a little bit harder than the others, but I think as a whole, the juniors did really well.”
