During the Spirit Week’s second ‘best-dressed’ contest, juniors won the competition during brunch today on the Quad at Palo Alto High School, with seniors in second place, and sophomores and freshmen in third and fourth place, respectively.
Junior winners Jessie Kwan and Eli Kozodoy took victory by wearing button-up beach shirts, leis and holding surfboards.
Kwan said she is going to go all-out for Spirit Week this year.
“I’m dressing up for the pool every single day, and I’m going to pull up in wigs and everything,” Kwan said.
Senior vice president Emily Tang said the seniors are well ahead of the juniors and are on track to win.
“Juniors are not winning,” Tang said. “Seniors are currently in the lead by a landslide, but yesterday set the mood off really well. We [seniors] won and we placed 1st in two rounds of games.”
Tang said the seniors have been hyped for Spirit Week before the week had even started.
“We’re doing really well in terms of spirit and attendance,” Tang said. “Even starting from day one and float building before the dress up days even started, we have had really good turnout and attendance. Everyone is so excited to be dressing up and so excited to be helping out with our float.”
Senior president James Park said he is sure that the seniors will win Spirit Week.
“I feel confident that we’re going to win,” Park said. “Look at the scoreboard, the seniors already have 5,600 points.”
