The editors and staff at The Paly Voice are seeking new talent to help with the following projects:
~ Creating "most viewed" and "most commented" sections in the site’s right bar
~ Building a functioning Paly weather tracker
~ Constructing a Flash-based photo essay system, advertisements, comics and games
~ Creating an online stock tracker for the Viking Alumni Composite, a stock fund composed of companies founded, run or substantially owned by Paly alumni
~ Making the Paly Voice CMS code available as an open source project
~ Building a working ticker for news alerts
~ Upgrading visual elements of the site (e.g. our poll box should look a lot better!)
Both of the Voice’s three-year-veteran Webmasters are graduating in June. Students who respond to this request and complete one or more of the above projects will be considered as the staff searches for new technical leaders. Proficiency in some or all of the following would be useful: HTML, PHP, CSS, Flash, Photoshop, MySQL. Independent study options are a possibility.
The Voice has been among the top-ranked scholastic journalism Web sites in the country for the past four years. With your help we can maintain that position and break new ground on the future.
