The Key Club will hold the first of year’s two Paly blood drives on Monday, Nov. 20, in the Girls Gym.
According to Key Club member senior Alex Ji, the Stanford Blood Center asked the Key Club to host two blood drives at Paly this year due to the success of the blood drive last spring.
"In the past we have had them only second semester," Ji said. "Last year was probably the most successful [blood drive] ever. We processed about 130 people."
Key Club estimates the turn out for this blood drive will not be as high. According to Ji, Key Club is looking to process 80 donors next Monday.
"I’m not sure how we will do compared to last spring – last spring was phenomenal," Ji said. "If everyone in the club [Key Club] could sign up five people, that would be great."
According to Ji, walk-ins are expected to boost turnout numbers for the blood drive.
Everyone is invited to donate. Donors must be free of cold or flu symptoms and age 17 to 74, or 16 with a signed parent consent form. Donors are asked to bring photo ID when donating.
Sign-up with a Key Club member or in room 214. Potential donors my also contact Ji at [email protected], including in their e-mail their full name, birth date, first and second choice donating times, and the name and classroom of their first period teacher.
For more information about donating restrictions go to http://bloodcenter.stanford.edu or call 650-725-9968.
The blood drive will take place from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Girl’s Gym at Paly.
