The Viking is a student-run magazine started in the 2007-2008 school year. The magazine features entirely sports content, covering the successes of all Paly teams as well as delving into the deeper issues surrounding high school sports.
As the world of journalism continues to change, so does The Viking. Along with the keynote product, a 64-page magazine published six times per year, The Viking also publishes online news briefs, game recaps, photos and videos. Additionally, the staff publishes a Twitter Feed of sports scores from each of the 23 varsity sports at Paly.
The Viking is published by the students of Palo Alto High School's Advanced Magazine Journalism class, and is an open forum for student expression. The staff welcomes signed letters to the editor, but reserves the right to edit all submissions for length, grammar, potential libel, invasion of privacy and obscenity.
