The Palo Alto High School girls’ soccer team (11-1-0, 5-1-0) avenged last season’s Central Coast Section loss against Los Gatos High School (1-7-3, 1-4-1) with a 2-0 win in Saturday’s game at Paly.

Junior defender Jacey Pederson scored early in the second half with a solo effort, and freshman midfielder Emily Tomz added a second late on to seal a victory over the Wildcats.

The Vikings will next take on Los Altos High School at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday Jan. 29 at the El Camino field.
