With the series on the line, the Palo Alto High School Baseball Team (22-4-0) travels to Wilcox High School today to take on the Chargers (19-9-0) in the second game of the first round of the Santa Clara Valley Athletic League De Anza Divsion Playoffs.

The Chargers took a 1-0 lead in this best-of-three series after defeating the Vikings 4-2 on Tuesday, May 1, at Paly. Senior catcher Christian Lonsky and senior outfielder Justin Grey each scored one run, but it wasn’t enough, as the Chargers used a two run fifth inning to put the Vikings away for good.

The Vikings must win this upcoming game in order to avoid elimination from the SCVAL De Anza Division playoffs. If they can defeat the Chargers today, the series will head back to Palo Alto this Friday for a decisive third game. The winner of that game, then, will advance to the next round.
