Twenty-nine Palo Alto High School seniors will confirm their intent to compete at the collegiate level during the national signing day event during lunch on Wednesday in the Peery Family Center.

Senior pitcher Jeremy Akioka, who will be signing with Swarthmore College to play baseball, said he is excited to be recognized for all the hard work he has put into his athletic career.

“Signing Day will be an awesome opportunity to be surrounded by friends, family, teammates and coaches while being recognized for our athletic achievements,” Akioka said. “I’m really excited for Wednesday.”

Senior Susanna Limb, a libero for the Paly girls’ volleyball team, said she has dreamed of this day for most of her athletic career.

“Every year I have gone to signing day to support my friends and teammates and each year I became more and more motivated to be in that position by my senior year,” Limb said. “I’m also excited for signing day because I get to see where everyone is going to play. It’s like an official affirmation of all the hard work we have put in over the past few years.”
