Blue Bottle Coffee’s new Palo Alto location, which opened Aug. 30 at the Stanford Shopping Center, will host a Community Day Saturday.

Cafe Manager Paul Jimenez, who previously worked at Blue Bottle’s other Palo Alto location on University Avenue, said he was excited about the store opening Aug. 30 at the Stanford Shopping Center.

“I think people are starting to find us, we’re having new guests,” Jimenez said. “We’re getting a different part of Palo Alto, which is good.”

Blue Bottle Coffee has expanded from 29 stores at the end of 2016 to 88 current locations, including 21 stores in Northern California.

The newest Blue Bottle Coffee shop, facing El Camino Real at the Stanford Shopping Center, features simple, wooden tables and chairs, floor-to-ceiling windows, and light walls.

The store is already bustling with customers, including Gabi Erwin, a frequent customer at Blue Bottle, who said she prefers the new location to the one on University Ave.

“I think it’s really convenient,” Irwin said. “I’m going to come here a lot more now when I’m in town because it’s right here. This one is just very open, and I always come to Stanford anyways.”

Anna Meyer, a senior at Palo Alto High School, said she is eager to visit the new coffee shop.

“I really like the downtown cafe, it has very nice vibes and good coffee, so I’m excited for the second location to officially open,” Meyer said. “I think I’ll go there when I am in the area.”

Editor’s Note: This story has been altered from its original version to reflect that the event hosted Sep. 14 was the location’s Community Day, and the grand opening occurred on Aug. 30.
